A Hidden Gem in Pejeng Kawan – Perfect for Families
The Boston family stayed here and highly recommend – it’s a pair of connected apartments set in a peaceful Balinese family compound, surrounded by rice fields and epic sunsets. Each apartment has its own kitchen, ensuite bathroom, and a lounge area, so it works really well for families with older kids who want a bit of space (or parents who want a little breathing room!).
There’s a pool with amazing views, and the whole place just feels calm and grounded. The Balinese family who live on-site are absolutely lovely – so kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to welcome you into their culture. Our kids loved chatting with them and learning bits of Balinese life just by being around.
There are a few dogs and cats around, but they’re super gentle and quiet – more part of the family than anything else.
Location-wise, it’s ideal: only 5 minutes to Ubud, 10 minutes by scooter to school and tucked away enough to feel peaceful and safe.
Highly recommend if you're looking for something authentic, family-friendly, and relaxed.
