Meet the Founding Families
👋 From Worldschool to Future School
We are Richard & Kerry (worldschooling parents and serial entrepreneurs with a passion for community and education), and Jak & Lisa (fellow worldschoolers and experienced educators, dedicated to creating purposeful, progressive learning experiences).
Together, we’re the team behind Future Human School.
Our journey spans continents, classrooms, and countless learning adventures - but it all led us here: building a school for the future in Ubud for long-term families and worldschoolers -seeking meaningful connection
We’re combining our skills, values, and experiences - nurtured through travel and deeply rooted in Bali - to create something special. With the spirit of Tri Hita Karana (harmony with self, others, and nature) at the heart, FHS is more than a school—it’s a growing, living learning village.
✨ We’d love to welcome you in - whether for a term or something longer. Register for all the latest updates!

-
Malaika
FOOD MENTOR
For Malaika, food is more than nourishment - it’s a sacred expression of nature, tradition and healing. Rooted in ancient wisdom passed down through the royal lineage of Tabanan, Bali, Chef Malaika’s plant-based cuisine is deeply intentional, seasonal and crafted with purpose.
What sets Malaika apart is her deep respect for the chemistry of food. Her team uses largely organic, locally sourced ingredients and time-honoured fermentation techniques to enhance nutrition, aid digestion and unlock incredible flavour. Every dish is designed with both taste and well-being for growing humans in mind.
We are honoured to have her on the team providing plant-based, gluten free, sugar free, delicious school lunches and meals in the Future Human School restaurant. She is also our lead mentor for the Term 2 and future Food projects.
Our Partners - Alam Kidz
Future Human School is proudly established through a formal partnership with Alam Kidz School - a long established and respected Indonesian yayasan (foundation) which educates children from kindergarten to primary school.
This amazing partnership means:
🛡️ Future Human School operates with full legal recognition under Indonesian law.
🤝 Ensures we are part of the local educational ecosystem, while maintaining our independent, globally-minded curriculum.
🔍 Unlike many learning centers in Bali, our structure provides stability, transparency, and accountability for families.
🌱 We are committed to respecting and contributing to the local culture and community, not working around it.
This isn’t just a partnership on paper - it’s kids lifting kids.
Our students actively mentor Alam Kidz students, creating a shared learning experience that’s rooted in heart, not just structure.
