The Village
A school is nothing if it doesn’t have community and celebration at its heart.
Friday is Village Day we engage with community, explore real-world challenges, and celebrate culture, nature, and time together. These experiential learning opportunities are for students, mentors, families and stakeholders. From guest speakers and workshops, to trips, celebrations and collaboration.
In Bali, the Future Human School intentionally is building an intergenerational community rooted in purpose and place far beyond the classroom walls. Learning happens through field experiences, service, storytelling, and connection.
Just as we’ve chosen to live beyond our home countries, our students grow by embracing a world beyond the conventional, learning through life itself.
Recent activities have included:
A family Myofascial Manoeuvres workshop where we learned how to release tension and stuck energy from the popular group Human Garage.
A family day out to visit a 1920s Balinese village setup, complete with documentary making and a firefly talk about how to encourage the re-population of them in Bali.
A visit from ‘Sugar Man’ who creates beautifully intricate little sculptures entirely from melted sugar. Kids and parents had great fun having a go!
A musical beats workshop from young and inspiring German group Keywave where the kids got stuck in creating their own track with the band.
A trip to I Am Creation Summit in Sanur, Bali to go behind the scenes and see the technical setup. The students also met some of the inspirational speakers and watched the show in action.
